Midwest Living's Editorial Guidelines Published on April 14, 2017 Print Share Prep Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins Total Time: 30 mins Servings: 4 Jump to Nutrition Facts Ingredients 1 pound boneless sirloin ½ teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil ¼ cup thinly sliced shallots ½ teaspoon chopped fresh thyme ¾ cup blueberries ¾ cup roughly chopped blackberries ½ cup unsalted beef stock ¼ cup dry red wine 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar 1 tablespoon unsalted butter Baby spinach and feta salad Directions Season sirloin with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper. Heat oil in a large stainless skillet over medium-high. Cook steak 12 minutes, turning once, for medium-rare. Transfer steak to a cutting board to rest for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, reduce heat to medium. In the same skillet, add shallots and thyme; sauté 1 minute. Stir in blueberries and blackberries, stock, wine and vinegar. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook 8 minutes, until berries burst and sauce is thickened. Stir in butter and season with salt and pepper. Slice steak and serve with sauce and a baby spinach and feta salad.
